Happy 4th of July! It has been a busy couple of weeks for us here. Andy made his epic journey across country from Arizona to New York to start his new job -- in the mini cooper with the 2 kitties. Thankfully, they all made it to NY in one piece and still relatively sane. The kids and I will follow in August but first will spend this very hot July here, getting packed and ready to move. We miss Daddy, and Pip, Pop, and Sheen, so we'll all be glad when moving day finally arrives. Caleb is enjoying his summer vacation, swimming and just hanging out. Zoe also enjoys the pool and driving her big brother up the wall. She's picked up a couple of new words and they are her current favorite expression. Unfortunately, the words are "Oh Man!" So everything we do these days earns an "Oh Man!" from Zoe. She's also learned to trumpet like an elephant and tends to punctuate her conversation with a hardy "efefant" sound. Her other new words include apple and lunch and popcorn and...you know, come to think of it, almost all of Zoe's words have to do with food. We still struggle sometimes to get her to communicate with us. She'll just decide suddenly to refuse to speak, or even to gesture or nod. It's frustrating, to say the least, especially when you're trying to figure out what she needs and she refuses to give you a clue. She's also busy pushing the limits as hard as she can -- very two, but also, I think, testing the water and finding out each time she does it that we still love her anyway. She certainly has a lot of personality -- she's stubborn and she's a handful and she has a mind of her own. So, in other words, she fits in perfectly.
