We attended the Rochester FCC Chinese New Year celebration yesterday. Zoe was very excited to go to her "China party," as she called it. Although I was pleased that there is such a large and active community of Asian adoptees out there, the event was really too big to have the opportunity to meet new people. But Zoe enjoyed it and that was the point, even if what she liked about it was the endless food and not the the cultural activities. Still, it's a start.
In other news, our little sponge has started repeating some unattractive language that she's picked up from who knows where. How is it that she still has trouble pronouncing "water" so that other people can understand her but the naughty words are coming out loud and clear? In hindsight, there was a real advantage to having a precocious toddler who didn't speak English.
