This kid just gets funnier every day!Last night while channel surfing, we stumbled across a program on the Food Network that was all about fun food factories - behind the scenes looks at how they make things like gummie bears and gold fish crackers. Zoe was sitting on Andy's lap and every time they would show a food, she would say, "I have it!" Andy would say, "We don't have any ______(fill in the blank)." And Miss Z would respond, "At the grocery store!" So her love affair with all things edible continues. Also, check out the new princess jacket! This was a Christmas gift from her Aunt Wendy, herself the mother of two girly-girls, who knew exactly what she was doing when she went shopping. With the pink sunglasses, we think Zoe looks like a tiny pink Elvis. Other news...Zoe seems to have been reassured about her place in the family. The constant questioning has stopped for now and she seems more settled than she had for several weeks. She and Caleb are getting along really well right now - yes, she can still drive him up a wall, but we're hearing more and more "conversations" between them and they're spending more time near each other these days...all when neither one thinks we're looking, of course. We're coming up on our 9 month anniversary in a couple weeks and the adjustment continues. I realize now how naive it was to think that we would bring her home, love her to death, and that would be that...we'd all just live happily ever after. Some days that happy ending seems very much in reach and other days just staying sane seems like a real stretch. But then she'll look at me and say, "I love you, Mom," and I'm able to keep plugging away.
