Just so we're clear about where we stand...Zoe has been going out of her way to drive Caleb nuts ever since he got home from school today. When he'd had all he could take, I intervened with a simple, "Zoe, leave your brother alone now." She gave me a look, turned on her heel and marched up the stairs. When she returned a few minutes later, she had her backpack, her shoes on her feet, and her party necklace on. As she walked by me in the hall, she said, "Bye, Mom," and headed for the backdoor. I, of course, asked her where she was going. Her answer..."To Poppa's house." I reminded her, very gently, that she couldn't drive the car. She thought about this for a minute, went back upstairs, and returned seconds later with my shoes. Setting them on the floor in front of me, she said, "Now, come on, Mom," and headed for the door again. So, on our 7 month anniversary she's ready to throw us over for her Poppa when things aren't going her way here at home. But at least she put on some bling before attempting her dramatic departure.
